Chariots of Change & Sort of Lying

Chariots of Change & Sort of Lying

I lied about what we were doing. Because I was ...afraid?.Embarrassed? I didn't believe anyone would actually be into the mysteries I was discovering in the realm of story. Boy was I wrong.

Greetings from Joshua Tree wonderous beings!

I came for a deep listen— and wooeee. This quiet desert sure does sweep out on the clutter hanging out in the psyche. But what has been delightful… is to discover this part of the journey onto the path of becoming a Sacred Storyteller.

Some of this missive shares about an upcoming free class on Saturday.

❤️ Subscribers ❤️… don’t miss your extra goodies at the bottom.

Transmission, by Daniel Popper

I didn't know what storytellers were when I was growing up. So when my bff Dominique asked if I would stop reading the stories I was writing... and start telling them... I was offended.

(I mean, everyone knows that "storytellers" just read books for kids ... in libraries. Right?). Wrong.

Little did I know that Dominique was encouraging me to catch a very old scent of oral storytelling--

an art form that is rather scarce, and nearly lost.

And then…I discovered Michael Meade…Caroline Casey, and Martin Shaw, and each one plucked a chord in my soul and woke something up.

The more I followed that scent of story, the more magical my life became. And the more I started telling stories from this magical place…. the more I noticed I was plucking the soul chords of other storytellers.

But when I first started teaching… I was afraid to tell people what we were doing.

So I called it… storytelling.

I'll never forget when one of the students at the end of the first class said,

"WTF was that.

I thought I signed up for a storytelling class...

but that was something else."

The first Myth, Magic, & Medicine Class at Solstice Grove

It wasn’t as if I was trying to be dishonest. It was just hard to put words to what we were doing.

So we started calling it … a SACRED PRACTICE….

….a way of communing with the divine as we built altars to the muses..

….found places for healing the human story through a journey to the mythic dimension.

Eventually… it came to be called: SACRED STORYTELLING.

Because the scent I was catching... led back to this:

"In ancient Africa, In Celtic lands, storytellers were magicians.

They were initiates.

They understood the under-lying nature of reality, its hidden forces.

The old Celtic bards could bring out welts on the body with a string of syllables. They could heal sickness with a tale. They could breathe life into a dying civilization with the magic of a story.

To a thriving civilization, they could bring transformation with the potency of myth. In the old days kings and leaders, warriors and knights listened to epic tales and drew from them courage and inspiration." -Ben Okri

It’s no secret... I'm not a bard.

I'm a Sacred Storyteller-- in a state of remembering how to engage story as a tool that supports life. And sharing everything I learn along the way with you.

If we've had the pleasure of sharing a story ceremony together--- then you know-- we're catching the scent of something old-- and cooking it into being in our time.

You Don’t Choose What You Are

Nothing about this training is normal:

We'll experience story ceremonies and how to allow a story to create pathways of understanding your consciousness.

We'll explore the mysteries of storytelling:

How Story is a vehicle for the unseen worlds of the ethereal, and the voice of the earth -- while providing access to guidance, ancestors, and the unseen world.

We'll speak about the often ignored energetics of storytelling:

What happens when we co-create a group energetic field and the conscious and unconscious agreements of what happens when we agree to handle and hold each other's story (aka energy).

And… I’m over the moon excited by our guest mentors who will be bringing mastery to our learning space.

If this wets your whistle--- there will be a

Free Intro class this Sunday at 10am.

Register for the Live Intro Class

The Live Training takes place online December 15-17, 2023 -- but if there is a group of Californians who want to meet in person, I will host a hybrid in-person & live event.

  • Replays of all modules are available forever

  • Quarterly Support Calls will take place at 9am PST / 12pm EST on March 28, June 27, September 26 and December 12, 2024

ONE OF THE MYTHS I HOLD: is that some souls made a choice to help with the transition our Earth is going through.

As storytellers, Conscious Creators, Innovators, Healers, we are driving the Chariots of Change as we midwife the next chapter of our planet into being. We’re the ones building the bridge into a new consciousness on earth. This is not an original idea…this is in many prophesies. But I do like to play with: what role are you playing in these prophesies of our time? They can only come true if we are willing to live them.

As our planet heats up-- in all aspects of the metaphor-- I am more inspired than ever to elevate these ancient tools that are our birthright.

We'll learn how to approach, handle responsibly and ethically, the most powerful tool humans were given: THE WORD.

And then tend to our capacity to engage the godly action of creation as we shape, change, and transform reality: through STORY

May you have great friends and community that calls out the best in you.

with love,

Leah
