One Way We can Love the World Today
Voices can speak on the front lines-- and behind the scenes
Greetings Dear Souls,
I woke this morning with a trembling nervous system—nothing new these days. Like so many of us, I’m learning how to be a sensitive being — while not being fragile— in a world that’s constantly changing.
So as the sun rose, I took this body to the warm pools, heated by the volcano—seeking realignment, connection, and a way to meet this day with clarity. I offered a prayer for our country and called in the energies of Peace, Miracles, and Healing.
There are so many ways to show up for the world right now.
I lived many years as an active activist—marching in the streets, organizing, writing as a journalist. And I’ve come to understand that there are many roles we play in the great story of change. Because that is at the center of why people gather: something has come alive inside that says, I must take a stand for change.
Too often, the voice of no is the loudest.
But there is a technology of prayer: we speak what we are calling into being. This is ancient wisdom—abracadabra: I create as I speak.
We can take action for change in many ways—some visible, some unseen. And all of it—all of it—is energy.
We can participate physically, yes. But we can also participate spiritually, energetically, soulfully. Even if we’re not on the front lines, we can focus our intention— not just as witness and consumer of infotainment— but we can become active in how we visualize those who are in the streets: see them standing in courage, wrapped in protection, held by guardian angels, blanketed in love, grace, and strength.
This morning’s meditation is one such offering. A way to participate in the creation of the story we want to live in—a story where we know ourselves as protectors, as guardians.
Why I Love Being a Sacred Storyteller When Things Get Crazy
Chaos is the bed of creation. Every new creation story begins in the darkness—in the void. We know that where there are endings, there are also beginnings.
(Side note: I just heard this great line—“When one door closes, another opens… but the hallways are a bitch.”)
Our job description is clear: the Sacred Storyteller’s role is a healer, a guide, a meaning maker.
We are not judges.
We weave the past into the present so that the future can exist.
We provide context.
We help people access their inner truths.
And we create space for all to live inside the story.
1. When the Sacred Storyteller speaks:
Our voice becomes a call for life.
A prayer for connection.
A song of belonging.
A vow to keep wisdom alive.
We speak to open hearts.
To bring people together.
To align and harmonize where there is discord.
2. Since our work is to bring harmony:
The spirit of joy flows through us—
as does grief,
as does love—
through every story we tell.
3. We understand that just before alignment… comes chaos.
As students of the cycles and patterns of life, we know this.
So when chaos arrives, we greet it as sacred—
part of the great unfolding
toward realignment.
4. We know that myth is more powerful than truth.
That reality is subjective.
That we create the world with every word we speak.
So we speak with intention, with purpose, with care and consideration.
And we remember that our first role is to:
Listen
Witness
Synthesize
Alchemize
And then… Speak.
5. We are devoted to the spirit of life.
We know the power of stillness and silence.
We do not speak from ego.
We speak when the muse strikes—
when the spirit moves through us.
A Prayer to the Guardians
We call on you:
Seen and unseen
Known and unknown
Whole and holy
Those who have been dormant in the land, waiting to be called upon and awakened for these times—
We call on the sacred protectors.
The ones who remember why they came.
Please stand with us.
Guide us.
Remove illusion.
Clear fear.
Help us see the real story unfolding.
Help us remember that we are here not just to witness—
but to sing, to harmonize, to make beauty in the midst of chaos.
What if all the energy you generate today is given as an offering for the greater call for realignment on this planet?
Make Love as an Act of Resistance
Maybe today is the day you make more love than ever before.
Not just with a partner—though that’s lovely.
But through presence.
With your animals.
Your family.
Your friends.
Through the way you listen, serve, share meals, and offer kindness.
Through a random act of kindness can you offer to a stranger?
This, too, is a revolution in times of chaos. A conscious choice to activate this energy in the world.
Let it not be numbing.
Let it be nourishment.
Let this be what you offer the world today:
A field of energy that says love lives here.
What is your prayer today?
How are you handling the changes in our times?
I’d love to hear what resonates with you.
With love,
Leah
Thank you for the inspiration to always find a way to get along for the day and life.
I love the volcanic rock spiral. Showing up with a spark and passing it along however that evolves.
Sharing a beautiful picture and a story to go with it.
