Sacred Storyteller... This is our time
to serve food for the soul.
Dearest Sacred Storyteller,
THIS IS OUR TIME
to weave the threads
that hold us together
to shine the light
of the soul
THIS IS OUR TIME
to open the hearts
to restore balance
to strum the cords of harmony
THIS IS OUR TIME
to listen to the wind that carries the whispers
and warnings of the past
while singing the future into being
with every word you speak.
Because you hold the memory of the past
and the dream of our future
and you are the one(s)
who have the tools to build the bridge
between here
and there.
And we hold this simple truth in the center of our hearts:
We are not the people who were fractured by story, othering, and hunger
We have been preparing for decades for a change.
We remember.
We know what must be done:
Make sure that no one is hungry.
Make sure that all have a place to belong to that calls out their best self.
Our job is to nourish.
While some will grow gardens, host pot lucks, and feed their neighbors—
the Sacred Storytellers will nourish the soul
with stories of courage, hope, beauty, and delight.
Our job is belonging.
We create and host sanctuaries:
circles where stories of the heart can be listened to and reflected upon.
Our job is to be guides.
As we facilitate journeys through consciousness
adventures through the soul
and offer people a way to home to themselves.
Our job is to create beauty.
As we plant seeds that grow into food for the soul.
We are Creators.
So no matter what destruction cycle is in place,
we also know that every ending
leads to the next beginning.
And we are the guides to the next...
Once upon a time....
there were those who walked among us as sacred storytellers and understood their role does not begin or end on a stage--
it is the role one plays in the great story of one's life.
We do this in line at the post office, with strangers, with family, with ourselves…
Sacred Storytelling is a practice.
No one says it is easy.
(But everyone confesses that it brings delight.)
